There are two graduate student organizations – the Ethnomusicology Student Association (ESA) and the Folklore Student Association (FSA) that meet together. These organizations allow students the opportunity to demonstrate both academic and performative excellence through engagement in a variety of activities:

• An annual student-organized conference (jointly held with Ohio State University)
• Workshops, seminars and colloquiums
• Coffeehouse to showcase diverse talent in the department each semester
