We offer Ph.D. minors for students pursuing doctoral degrees outside of our department.

The Ph.D. minor in Folklore consists of 12 credit hours of coursework. At least one course (3 credit hours) must be chosen from these required courses: F512, F516, F517, F523, or F525.

The remaining 9 credit hours must be approved by the director of the Folklore Institute. There is no doctoral minor exam.

The Ph.D. minor in Ethnomusicology consists of 12 credit hours of coursework. At least two courses (6 credit hours) must be chosen from these required courses: E522, E523, E525, E533, E714, and E740.

The remaining 6 credit hours must be approved by the director of the Ethnomusicology Institute. There is no doctoral minor exam.
