We offer Ph.D. minors for students pursuing doctoral degrees outside of our department.

The Ph.D. minor in Folklore consists of 12 credit hours of coursework (four graduate courses). At least three credit hours (one course) must be chosen from these required courses: F512, F516, F517, F523, or F525.

The remaining 9 credit hours (three courses) must be approved by the director of the Folklore Institute. There is no doctoral minor exam.

The Ph.D. minor in Ethnomusicology consists of 12 credit hours of coursework (four graduate courses). At least six credit hours (two courses) must be chosen from these required courses: E522, E523, E525, E533, E714, and E740.

The remaining 6 credit hours (two courses) must be approved by the director of the Ethnomusicology Institute. There is no doctoral minor exam.
